- Xiaomi Pad series is one of the best-selling Android tablets
- Reports suggest that the Chinese company is preparing a successor with improved chip
- It could be revealed as early as next year
The Xiaomi Pad 6 tablets were released in March of this year, with the Pro model remaining exclusive to China, while the standard version has been available in the Czech Republic since July. However, there are now talks of a successor being prepared. According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, it is expected to be solidly equipped.
Just to recap, the Xiaomi Pad 6 range currently includes three models – standard, Pro, and Max, with a 14″ display. However, only the standard version is available and the Chinese company is apparently preparing a successor. Leaker Digital Chat Station revealed the supposed specifications of the model on the Chinese social media platform Weibo Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. According to the leaker, it will once again feature an LCD display, with no AMOLED in sight for next year. However, it will maintain the high resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate.
It is said that the tablet will feature a design language similar to the recently launched Xiaomi 14 series, including a square camera island. As for performance, it will feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 with a maximum frequency of 3.36 GHz, replacing the existing Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. The Chinese giant plans to launch the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in the first quarter of 2024. A new lineup of these tablets could theoretically be revealed at the same event.
